Fixed

After months of "cannot connect to server" messages, I finally followed other reviews about deleting friends bridge and the app immediately started working and much faster, too. It works just as intended as long as you delete friends bridge. I dont know why they continue to have such a flawed app and no help to fix it.

It is a great app when it works.
