HORRIBLE APP
I got the accurite home weather station for Christmas. It came with the outdoor 5in1 sensor and two temperature sensors as well as the bridge which is needed for the app to work. Ive not had any issues. It works like it is supposed to. Once in awhile I get an error message, but I just close the app and reopen it and it works. Setting up was a little tricky, but if you are a little tech savvy you will be fine. I am not a computer programmer by any means. I love the app as well as the weather station.
Terrible App and Support! Constantly says Unable to contact server! When and if it works forecast always says 99 percent rain in all 3 Windows! Deleting and looking for a New Weather Unit and contacting Amazon for a refund! Also rain gauge is completely inaccurate even though level and set up to their instructions!
The website has been fine, and the app worked well for the first day. Ever since I get the constant and often complained about "cant connect to server" issue though. Ive tried the recommended fixes (deleting the shared bridge/sensors), Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, Ive tried restarting my phone, all without success. Im hoping the app will become more stable as they hopefully continue to work on it. I have a bunch of friends whod love this set up, but I wont be recommending it till the app stabilizes. Otherwise from a web log in perspective things look and work well.
I have been using my Acurite weather station for more than a year. During that time I have had very little trouble viewing my data using the IPhone App from Acurite My Backyard Weather. However, recently during the past month I have not been able to view my data through the app once. Each time receiving the Cant Connect to Server message. I read the reviews for the app today and found several entries stating a possible fix was to log onto the website, go to follow my friends bridge, and delete the entry for HQ. I thought this odd, but tried it. And it worked for me. Of course I now wonder why Acurite has not corrected this issue.
Doesnt work at all on my iPhone 6. Dont waste your time to install. Had I experienced this app before my purchase, I would have not selected this brand.
AcuRite makes a really nice weather station and the iPhone app is great. I love the graphics and display layout and the horizontal view. Very easy to setup and works perfectly. I would definitely recommend this app.
Has worked perfectly being able to see my weather station data from my phone wherever I am in the world!! I only wish that it displayed the feels like/wind chill/heat index temperature in which it doesnt.
Several people have given detailed walk throughs to fix the server error issue. Do it. It takes a couple minutes but fixes the headaches instantly. Wish I had done it sooner. They still need to update the apps user interface though. Feels outdated.
The app would be ok if it worked. Constantly loses the connection to the server. This may be hardware related but Ive called tech support on three separate occasions and it will work for a day or two then stop. This feature of remote viewing is the main reason I purchased this model weather station. Very dissatisfied.
After months of "cannot connect to server" messages, I finally followed other reviews about deleting friends bridge and the app immediately started working and much faster, too. It works just as intended as long as you delete friends bridge. I dont know why they continue to have such a flawed app and no help to fix it. It is a great app when it works.
I bought my Acu-Link internet bridge in Nov. 2015 and it worked great. Then my iPhone app stopped connecting to the server sometime in December. I stopped checking it on my phone because it never seemed to connect. Then I saw an email communication from AcuRite saying that their servers had been overloaded from the holiday sales and I figured I would wait a while. Here it is March 5 and I finally decide to check it out. I went to google and it took me a while, but I saw a review that mentioned an issue with the iOS app and the HQ sensors. I remembered the HQ sensors being in my dashboard but I had deleted them from my app. Finally, I uninstalled the app and while reinstalling it I read the reviews on the iPhone app. Right there in the first review I got the fix. Worked like a charm. I went to the MyBackyardWeather website and in the upper right where it shows my email id, clicked on the down arrow and then on Follow My Friends Bridge. I clicked the red X to remove the HQ bridge and now my iOS app works again. Shame on Chaney Communications for not fixing this bug.
If you folks read some of the reviews you wouldnt have to reinvent the wheel so often! On January 7, the Bama guy posted a fix for the server unresponsive issue. I suggest you read it.
Why the fix to the "cant connect to sever" issue was not communicated is beyond me. I certainly receive emails wanting me to buy more product. How about some concerning customer service?
The App. hasnt worked in many months. Always get error message "Cannot connect to server." Always. It never connects. Tried deleting and reloading the App and got same result. I connect perfectly online using PC. App simply does not work.
The mobile app is horrible. Hardly user-friendly I cant connect to the app and it tells my password is wrong.
The send notifications for the wind speed will not save "unable to update alarm cannot send alarm message without recipients ". Email and SMS phone number entered, and will not save. This the most important data I want alerts on.
So much better than before. No connectivity issues. Sometimes a little slow to load but thats it. Good job.
App will not work on the iPhone 5 running iOS 9. App just crashes upon startup.
